Director of Marketing at Nocturne
In order to get involved with the local art scene a little, I've joined a local collective dedicated to creating music and visual art fusion events to showcase local talent, formed near the end of 2017. To create a distinctive look identifiable across our series of events, I delved into a new art style I made up, let’s call “hyper-collage”. I believe this succeeded in making the unique Nocturne brand identifiable as a whole, while also evoking a pretty unique emotion surrounding each event. This look has bene extended across social media, and group tie-ins such as radio shows. The stalwart little group is making headway, and in our second year, we’re looking to partner up with such local art institutions as the Beaumont studios, and growing a tidy little network of extremely talented local DJs and visual artists, as well as some international outreach in the music scene.
Perhaps most importantly, the original promotional art had to be translated into the digital realm in exciting way for Facebook events and Instagram promotion. I translated the art style in various animations and videos across social media, accompanied by audio clips of music associated with the shows. I also created things like multi image “wallpaper” Instagram posts and an original video artwork piece associated with first show’s artwork to bolster the brand and for visualizations at the shows.
